Since 2018, HAERTOL Chemie GmbH and Valvoline Inc. have maintained an international licensing and distribution partnership. In 2023, Valvoline Global Operations also took a financial stake in HAERTOL. Valvoline is a leading provider of vehicle services and a marketer and supplier of premium brand-name lubricants with sales in more than 140 countries. The company, which was founded in 1866, looks back on a history of more than 150 years. Valvoline operates and franchises more than 1,500 commercial operations and, with the brand Valvoline Instant Oil Change, is the second biggest chain in the United States by number of commercial operations. Valvoline was the only motor oil that Ford recommended for his Model T in the 1920s.

Valvoline is permitted to produce and sell HAERTOL product technology; HAERTOL, in turn, is permitted to produce and sell Valvoline technology. Within the scope of this mutual partnership, Valvoline distributes the premium antifreeze concentrate FROSTOX®HT-12 in North America, China, India, Thailand and Malaysia.
